Twelve months ago I was painting out in the boonies, deep in the Macdonnell Ranges. If you get the chance drop in for a look, well worth it. It’s dry, rugged and bloody hot in summer but people have been living there for 100 000 years or so, and that’s the feeling you can get out there amongst the desert rock – a trip back in time. It’s like time just goes for ever. Ancient rock folded under an endless blue sky.
For a while I rented this fine studio hut out the back of Ross River Station. Pure luxury in a harsh land.
